I worked as a clinician on the Crisis Intervention Response Team with the Houston Police Department and Harris County Sherriff's Office for 3 years responding to individuals with mental health concerns, including officers in mental health crisis, and hostage negotiation team calls. Prior to that I worked on the Lubbock Police Department Victims Services Crisis Team for 4 years. In that position I worked alongside law enforcement to provide assessment and intervention following critical incidents such as hostage calls, suicides, homicides, infant deaths, fatal vehicle accidents, sexual assaults.
I am trained in individual and group Critical Incident Stress Management through the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation, Inc. I am trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD.
