When should you seek a therapist? When you are not feeling as happy as you used to or as you wish to.
The process of psychotherapy helps strengthen mental health by increasing awareness about how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence your life. Once awareness has been gained, this will open up more choices and possibilities for change. I like to see us as partners in this process. You can expect to be asked many of questions, share feelings and be committed to change.
My mission is to bring out awareness, foster acceptance and understanding, create change and personal growth within you.
An important aspect in the process is the relationship with the therapist, feeling comfortable and trusting is very important. I will give you regular feedback, so you can objectively assess your progress and ask for feedback as well.
My treatment approach incorporates techniques from Cognitive Behavioral, Psychodynamic theory, NLP (Neuro-linguistic Programming), Imago therapy, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) and other techniques.
My diverse background (born in Brazil, immigrated to the USA, currently living in Germany) enables me to work with a multicultural clientele. I am fluent in English, German, Portuguese and some Spanish.
